Joe Satriani once said of Eric Johnson’s playing, "He’s got a tone that’s so smooth, it’s like a violin." And he was right. It was 2006 or 2007, and I was diving deep into the “Guitar” as an instrument. That’s when I learned about the Stratocaster, simply because I had watched Eric Clapton play one with a cigarette defiantly stuck on the headstock.
